2010 Paris Open Source Think Tank                               September 28 – 29, 2010

The Paris Open Source Think Tank, hosted by Olliance Group and DLA Piper, will be held at the Golden Tulip Champs-Elysées Hotel. The Open Source Think Tank is the most unique invitation-only event of its kind, bringing together many of the world’s top thought leaders in a challenge to solve real world situations. The event is focused on the evolution and practical implications of open source and cloud computing. By utilizing real-world case studies and a brainstorming format, the Think Tank effectively brings together the perspectives and insights of the entire ecosystem - from senior IT executives of the Fortune 1000 to dozens of CEOs of the most successful open source companies. This creates an unparalleled opportunity to share significant insights while building substantive relationships.

The cost of the conference is $1100 USD. This includes participation at the conference, an opening reception and a gala dinner cruise through the middle of Paris on the Seine.

The Paris Think Tank will focus on a business case from an enterprise end user and a public sector entity. The Spring Think Tank held in April of this year was privileged to have the State of California as its core business case.

“The Open Source Think Tank team worked with the State of California to come up with a very provocative and compelling case study. The case study got the attendees engaged in collaboratively solving a large enterprise problem. In the process we got tremendous value in terms of community wisdom and concrete action steps.”
P.K. Agarwal Former CTO, State of California

Additionally, the Open Source Think Tank has partnered with the Open World Forum (openworldforum.org),to be held on September 30th and October 1st in order to provide further learning and business development opportunities. With more than 1500 participants representing 40 countries, the Open World Forum is the world's leading summit meeting wherein communities and decision-makers cross-fertilize the open technological, economic, and social initiatives that represent the digital future.

The Open Source Think Tank has consistently been a highlight for all types of executives. Below are some of their perspectives:

  • CEO
  • VC
  • CIO
  • Legal
“The Open Source Think Tank is ideal, not only for the chance to share ideas and address the challenges surrounding commercial open source with my peers, but for the networking and business development opportunities. Collabnet was able move at least three partner and potential customer relationships forward at the event itself.”
Bill Portelli, CEO, CollabNet
“Just a quick note of THANKS! for the invitation and the conference. Hands-down one of the best I've participated in. Indeed, I already have several follow-ups in the works with entrepreneurs I met at the Think Tank.”

Scott Johnson, Partner, Alloy Ventures

“The Open Source Think Tank provides a tremendous amount of value to investors through its unique interactive format. It allows us to generate some deep industry insights which we don't get from other venues, discover potential investment opportunities, and see entrepreneurs engage with potential customers and partners.”

Vivek Mehra, Partner, August Capital

“For the past three years, the Open Source Think Tank has served as my highest point of leverage for reconnecting, making new connections, and gaining high value, consolidated insight into the very latest open source industry trends and developments.”
Tim Golden, Bank of America
“I have found the Think Tank to be a very stimulating environment, providing unique insights into the legal and strategic issues I have faced ... There is a wealth of information that you will absorb as you listen, or engage in stimulating conversations, with extremely well informed CEO's, CIO's and other legal colleagues with world class open source expertise.”
Damien Eastwood, Vice President, Legal, Sun Microsystems
